About Helpless Children's Paradise
Helpless Children's Paradise (HCP) is a volunteer organization located at small community in Basundhara, Kathmandu, Nepal, working to rehabilitate deprived, helpless and orphaned children in Nepal. More than a decade long of political violence has hugely affected the socio-economic lives of people in Nepal, and the most affected are undoubtedly the children.
Given that children are completely dependent on their parents, they are very vulnerable indeed. Especially in country like Nepal, where the literacy rate is very low, unemployment rate is rising and political violence has rendered many children parentless, it's not so uncommon to find children suffering the most, being orphaned, and ending up in anti-social activities like durgs use, robbery and trafficking.
HCP aims to protect these children, prevent them from becoming a social nuisance and make them responsible citizens. It was established in 2005 A.D. by a team of experienced volunteers who have sound knowledge on child care and child rights. Children are enrolled into HCP from different parts of the country. They are given educational, health, food, shelter support and more importantly they are given love and taught to share it with others outside its homely environment.
