About Helpless Children's Paradise
Helpless Children's Paradise (HCP) is a volunteer organization located at small community in Basundhara, Kathmandu, Nepal, working to rehabilitate deprived, helpless and orphaned children in Nepal. More than a decade long of political violence has hugely affected the socio-economic lives of people in Nepal, and the most affected are undoubtedly the children.
Tihar 2009
Children @ HCP celebrate Tihar, one of the major festivals of Nepal. Tihar is a 5 days long festival which is celebrated to offer Thanks and gratitude to gods, siblings and animals. The last day of tihar is "bhai-tika". During "bhai-tika" sisters worship brother and pray for his longitivity. Brother, in turn gives gifts and blessing to sisters.
Trip to Tatopani
Children accompanied by the members of HCP and the erstwhile volunteers go on a trip to Tatopani. Tatopani literally means "hot water". Tatopani is famous for
the hot springs and lies at the border between Nepal and China.
Summer Gifts
12th June, 2008.
Umesh Maharjan of Sanepa, Kathmandu came along with some packets for the children in HCP and everybody were excited wondering what gifts they would receive. When he called children one by one to the room and presented with new t-shirts, children started shouting in excitement. Each one received a new t-shirt and photos were taken for remembrance.

Taleju Dhankumari Fund at Bhotahity has distributed course books and note copies to the children for this academic session. Shoes were sponsored by Mrs. Rita Ghimire of Panipokhari. Similarly bags has been gifted by Mrs. Manju Acharya of Thamel.
